首都医科大学教授，博士研究生导师。 原首都医科大学附属北京同仁医院神经科主任。原中华医学会眼科分会神经眼科学组副组长。目前任美国The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center 神经科和眼科副教授，专业方向神经眼科以及神经免疫与多发性硬化 。北美神经眼科学会（ NANOS）患者教育委员会以及国际关系委员会委员。亚洲神经眼科学会（ASNOS）委员。 国内和国际多个专业期刊编委。发表中英文论著150余篇。主编（译）学术专著多部。培养博士硕士研究生19名。

Dr. Xiaojun Zhang is currently a neuro-ophthalmologist and neuroimmunologist and assistant professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She received her MD and PhD degree at Peking Union Medical College in Beijing, China in 1995. She worked at Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University as a professor and the Chairperson of Neurology for nearly 20 years, during which time she pursued neuro-ophthalmology fellowship training at Emory University in 2004, then returned to China and dedicated her career to Neuro-ophthalmology development in China. She moved to the US in 2014, completed Neurology residency at University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2021, followed by Neuroimmunology and Multiple sclerosis fellowship training in 2022 then stayed on faculty since. She was recently appointed as the director of Neuro-ophthalmology Division at Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Dr. Zhang has been the leader of many neuro-ophthalmology research projects in China. She has over 100 peer-reviewed publications in Chinese and more than 40 in English. She is also the author of many book chapters in both neurology and neuro-ophthalmology. She led her team in Beijing translated 5 neuro-ophthalmology books into Chinese. She has over 200 national and international invited lectures and presentations both in Chinese and English. She has multiple scientific memberships in both neurology and ophthalmology, both in China, the US and internationally. She is currently an international fellow of the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society also sits on Editorial board of Neuro-ophthalmology journal. Her current research is focusing on optic neuritis treatment decision making and ocular image as biomarker of neuro-immunological conditions.
